GLE Group performs MOT, maintenance and repair on trucks and trailers for several large customers. GLE has workshops in Amsterdam (Schiphol), Rotterdam and Ghent (België). For our location in Rotterdam, we are looking for a driver trailers / mechanic.

GLE Rotterdam is part of the international operating GLE Group; a chain of workshops with highly professional, well-trained workshop staff/mechanics who execute (field) repair and maintenance of both trailers, trucks and dollies. GLE Group is the service provider of ICTS Group, an International trailer rental company, for which the total GLE Group performs 60% of all trailer work. GLE Group also performs (field) repair and services for external customers and third parties, in both the workshops and on location (field services).
Job description
As a driver trailers / mechanic with CE driver's license, your daily tasks include:
- You are responsible for the transport of trailers between the quay and the location of GLE Rotterdam, the local shunting and moving of trailers in the parking lot and in the workshop and you take care of the transport of trailers between the various locations of the GLE Group.
- If no rides are planned, you carry out maintenance and repairs in the workshop. This concerns both basic maintenance and replacement of parts (eg brakes, air bellows) where necessary.
- You inspect the semi-trailers for damage and carry out the necessary repairs.
- You are flexible according to the needs of the company and you communicate fluently with the workshop manager, colleagues and external parties. You strive for perfection in the assignments you carry out.
- You preferably already have experience with driving trailers to the inspection stations, and you have technical knowledge about the vehicles you drive and transport.
Job requirements
- Checking validity and presence of transportdocuments;
- Checking the vehicle status and executing the connection with the truck;
- Handling in case of emergency;
- Executing basic maintenance;
- Cleaning / washing of the vehicle;
- You have 2 years of experience as a driver or a shunter, and are able to operate trailers with taillift, sliding roof etc;
- You have the mandatory licenses;
- You are proactive and flexible;
- Owning a forklift certificate is a plus;
- Languages: Dutch and English (medium level required).
